JACK LITTLE

Jack Little, 78, of 7543 Mill Swamp Road, Ivor, died Friday, Dec. 29, 1995, in his residence.

He was a native of Isle of Wight County and was owner of Gas and Appliance Service in Smithfield from 1954 until his retirement in 1979. Mr. Little was a member of Smithfield Baptist Church and its Men's Baracca Class. He was a member of the Smithfield Kiwanis Club, American Legion, George F. Dashiell, Post (NU)49, and the Smithfield Senior German Club. Mr. Little was a member of the Board of Directors of the Prescription Fertilizer and Chemical Company in Ivor, and an active volunteer of Riverside Hospital for 13 years. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran serving in World War II in the European Conflict.

Survivors include his mother, Lena D. Little of Ivor; wife, Norma Jeanne K. Little; son, David A. Little of Ivor; son, David A. Little of Ivor; two daughters, Barbara L. Mason of Atlanta, Ga. and Sally L. Turner of Columbus, Ga.; sister, Betty L. Duncan of Smithfield; and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Smithfield Baptist Church with Dr. Donald Rhoton officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church immediately following the service, and suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Isle of Wight Chapter, Memorial Chairman, Mrs. J. L. Rose, 27768 Walters Highway, Walters, Va. 23491, Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 97, Smithfield, Va. 23431, or the American Legion, George F. Dashiell, Post (NU)49, Building Fund, P.O. Box 601, Smithfield, Va. 23431. Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, is handling the arrangements.
