Mary Ward Vellines Barlow, 81, died Dec. 29, 1995.
She was a native of Isle of Wight County and the daughter of the late Thomas and Tiny Ellis Vellines. She was also the widow of James Judson Barlow Jr. She had worked as a secretary for an insurance company. Mrs. Barlow was a member of Suffolk Christian Church, where she taught the 2- to 4-year-old Sunday school class.
Survivors include seven nieces and three nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home by Dr. Bruce Haven and Dr. Robert B. Marr. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and other times at the home of Mrs. James W. White, 206 Red Point Drive, Smithfield. Memorial donations may be made to the Nansemond Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23439.
