Howard ``Larry'' Jordan, 74, died Dec. 28, 1995, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
He was the owner of Avalon Cleaners until he retired after 26 years. He was also retired from the Navy after 20 years of service. He was a native of Dayton, Ohio, and a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Floy Awe Jordan of Virginia Beach; daughter, Karyn Meeks of Nashville, Tenn.; two sons, Fred Awe and Randy Awe of Virginia Beach; grandson, Justin Meeks of Fort Stewart, Ga.; granddaughter, Dawn Awe of Virginia Beach; and several loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday by Bishop Kendall M. Rasmussen in Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Burial is in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will be at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m., and at their home at other times.
