Litton Industries Inc. said Friday its Ingalls Shipbuilding division received a $795.4 million contract to build another amphibious ship for the Navy. Litton said the Navy exercised an option under a 1991 contract for the construction of LHD 7, the seventh ship in the Navy's Wasp Class of multipurpose amphibious assault ships. Ingalls already received contracts to build the first six ships of the class, four of which have been delivered. LHD 7 is to be the final ship of the program. Ingalls is based in Pascagoula, while Litton, an electronics and defense-systems company, is headquartered in Woodland Hills, Calif. (Dow Jones News Service) by CNB
