Downtown Portsmouth's waterfront will go country this New Year's Eve with line dancing to Driver, a country and western band, from 9:30 p.m. to midnight at Portside.
There will be cider, chocolate and other ``hot stuff'' available from vendors.
The Portside tents will be open and heated.
At midnight, a 20-minute fireworks display produced by Pyroshows and presented by the City of Norfolk, will be visible over the Elizabeth River.
The event, sponsored by the Portsmouth Parks and Recreation Department, is free.
