SHIRLEY S. FLEMING

Shirley Sanker Fleming has gone to be with the Lord and to join two of her daughters, Patricia Ann Fleming and Janet Lee Pivirotto, on Dec. 29, 1995.

Mrs. Fleming, who lived in Virginia Beach, was born in Cleveland, on January 9, 1925. She was educated at Purdue University and married Jack R. Fleming, now retired U.S. Army Lt. Col.

Survivors include one brother, William C. Sanker of Cincinnati, and five of her seven children; James C. Fleming of Falls Church, Mark V. Fleming, Peggy A. Fleming, Steven M. Fleming, and Shawn P. Fleming, all of Virginia Beach; as well as nine grandchildren; one niece; and two nephews.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. with friends and family gathering at Kempsville Presbyterian Church on Kempsville Road in Virginia Beach. Funeral services will also be held at this location Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jay Mumper officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hemotology Oncology Dept., CHKD, 601 Children's Lane, Norfolk, Va. 23507, checks can be made payable to Hemotology Oncology Dept. CHKD. Altmeyer Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
