JAMES WATERS

James ``Jimmy'' ``Chips'' Waters, 69, died Dec. 29, 1995, in his home.

He was retired from both the Merchant Marines and Moon Engineering. He was native of Pikesville, N.C., and was the widower of Thelma Maude Waters. He was a member of Burrows Memorial Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He is survived by three daughters, Linda G. McConnaghy of Norfolk, Dolores Edwards of Monroe, N.C., and Barbara Jackson of Virginia Beach; sister, Doris Gay of Goldsboro, N.C.; brother, Robert Waters of Goldsboro; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial is in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Military honors will be accorded at the gravesite.
