JOHN C. MILLER

John Christian Miller, 71, of Pembroke Manor died Friday, Dec. 29, 1995, in Bayside Hosptial.

He was the son of the late John Rudolph and Lucy Aiken Miller and the husband of Helen Beatrice Knorr Miller. Mr. Miller was born in Pittman, N.J., April 30, 1924, and was retired from the U.S. Navy after 21 years of service and 20 years of service in the civil service. John was an active member of the Christ Presbyterian Church, serving as elder. He had served a long time as Little League Baseball Coach for the Aragonna-Pembroke Leagues. Mr. Miller was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Kempsville (NU)196 AF and AM.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, John Rudolph Miller of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Debra Ann Miller of Norfolk, and Gail Helyne Miller Lorange of Bervard, N.C.; brother, Carl Miller of Florida; sister, Margaret Breslin of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. January 2, 1996, in Woodlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Clyde H. Johnson and the Rev. William W. Harrell officiating. The family will receive friends at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. The family requests that they be allowed the first 30 minutes of the visitation for private viewing by family and close friends, they also request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the building fund of Christ Presbyterian Church.
