Thomas Arner Edwards, 26, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 1995, after a long fight with cancer.
Born in Wilmington, Del., he had lived in West Chester, Pa., and Naperville, Ill., before moving to Virginia Beach in 1985, where he graduated from Green Run High School in 1988. He moved to Hampton in January, 1995. He was a member of Christian Church Uniting, Virginia Beach.
Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his stepfather, David L. Thor. Surviors include his mother and step-father, Cali Thor and Hillmer J. Olson of Hampton; his father and step-mother, Edward and Moyna Edwards of Middletown, Del.; his siblings, Edward Edwards III of Middletown, Del., Marilynn E. Turnpin and her husband, John, of Virginia Beach, Edward Edwards IV of Middletown, Del., Mark Carter and Brian Carter, both of Wilmington, Del., Tim Thor of Brattleboro, Vt., Amy T. Capers of Tuscon, Ariz., Jerry Olson of Hampton and John Olson of Baltimore, Md. Also surviving are his paternal grandmother, Emma Edwards of Coaldale, Pa. and maternal grandfather, Joseph C. Thor of Chico, Calif.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Christian Church Uniting, 6049 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. David Twigg and the Rev. Forest Wells. The family will be at 4001 Chesapeake Ave., Hampton. Memorials may be made to the Riverside Hospice, 500 J. Clyde Morris Blvd., Newport News, 23601. R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home is in charge.
