ANN-MARIE S. COCKEY

Ann-Marie Elizabeth Schurra Cockey, age 55, of the 4500 block of Gleneagle Drive, died at her residence, Dec. 29, 1995.

She was born March 4, 1940, in Lakewood, Ohio, and was the daughter of Al and Mary Falle Schurra. She was the loving wife of John S. Cockey Jr. Ann-Marie was a homemaker and a Catholic by faith. She was a graduate of Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio, with a BA degree in Sociology in 1963. She was a former teacher and social worker. She also had the never ending job as mother, wife and friend. Ann-Marie was a former member of Lakespur Circle of the King's Daughter, Kempsville PTA, founding member of the VMI '63 wives club.

Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Ann Cockey and Suzanne Jordan Cockey, both of the home, Lydia Councilman Cockey of Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Ron Schurra of Spokane, Wash., and Alan Schurra of Bay Village, Ohio; adored nieces, Jenine, Kristine, Ann-Marie, Katie and Elizabeth Suzanne.

Ann-Marie was a loyal friend, perfect mother, loving beautiful wife and selfless soul. Also surviving Ann-Marie was a small Cockey Menagerie, Aussie, Samantha, Gulliver, Patches, Frappy, Dorito, Kitty Kat and Barnie.

A Mass will be held in the Star of the Sea Catholic Church Monday, at noon with Father Sullivan officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. today at the Kellum Funeral Home, Pleasant Hall Chapel. The family requests that because of Ann-Marie never ending love of all creatures great and small, that memorial donations be made to the SPCA, 916 Ballentine Blvd., Norfolk, Va. 23504.
