The New Year brings both good and bad news to comics fans.
``Calvin and Hobbes'' has left the funny pages. The mischievous boy and his tiger appeared in their last adventure Sunday; the comic's creator, Bill Watterson, decided to discontinue the strip.
The strip readers voted as a replacement, ``Mother Goose and Grimm,'' debuts on our daily comic page today (it's been appearing in the Sunday comics for several months). And as a bonus, we've added a quirky little cartoon called ``Non Sequitur.''
We've also moved the Cryptoquip to the puzzle section, facing the comics.
