Ralph Henry Ames, 70, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 1995, in his residence.
Mr. Ames, a native of Cape Charles, Va., was the son of the late Gordon H. Ames and the late Carrie Ralph Ames. He was a retired process operator and pipe fitter for Amoco Oil Company, Yorktown, Va. He was past president of OCAW 3-1 Yorktown Local, past president of the International Oil Bargaining Council, and board member of the International Executive Council.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Mears Ames; two daughters, Kathy A. Vines and her husband, Jim, of Yorktown, Michele A. Rudolph and her husband, Tom, of Hampton; a son, Gordon Ames of Yorktown; a sister, Patricia Ames of Newport News; five granddaughters; and a great-grandson.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Fairview Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Ray Crockett. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Northampton Fire and Rescue Services, Nassawadox, Va. 23413. Doughty Funeral Home, Exmore, Va., in charge.
