John Walter ``J.W.'' Lamb, of the 2500 block of Leroy Drive, died Dec. 30, 1995, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.
Mr. Lamb, a heavy equipment operator, worked for Ferrell Bros. He was a native of Princess Anne County and a former member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mable Lee Lamb; four daughters, Karen Smith of Virginia Beach, Sharon McBride of Newport News, Diana Ferebee and Mary Thomas, both of Virginia Beach; a son, John Walter Lamb Jr. of Virginia Beach; his stepmother, Shirley Lamb of Virginia Beach; his father, John P. Lamb of Virginia Beach; a sister, Rosetta Johnson of Virginia Beach; and 10 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother, Estelle (Brock) Lamb.
The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Zion A.M.E. Church, by the Rev. Larry S. Hinton. Burial will in Mount Zion A.M.E. Church Cemetery. The remains will be ready at 2 p.m. today for viewing. The family will assemble at the residence at 2:30 p.m. for the procession. The remains will be taken to the church at 1 p.m.
