HIT-AND-RUN CAR KILLS PEDESTRIAN AT BEACH

A 47-year-old man was killed Monday night after being hit by a car that knocked him into the path of another car, police said.

A police spokesman said the driver of the first car did not stop after the accident at 6:55 p.m.

The man was attempting to cross the eastbound lanes of Virginia Beach Boulevard near Aragona Boulevard when he was hit. He was pronounced dead at the scene by rescue workers.

The man's identity was withheld until relatives could be notified.

Police said the first car to hit the man is possibly small, silver or white and was possibly driven by a white female. It should have damage to the front and the windshield.

Anyone who witnessed the accident or who has information on the driver or car is asked to call Crime Solvers at 427-0000.
