FEAR OF FAST-FOOD CRIME

Your report about the recent robberies at two local fast-food restaurants described tragedy.

I have worked at a local Burger King for about four years. When I first started, I was young and naive and did not realize the things that were going on around me. I used to work until 5 or even 6 o'clock in the morning - until I heard news of the slayings that occurred in Massachusetts, where four people were shot to death and thrown in a freezer in the back of their restaurant. I began working shorter hours and left work no later that 9 at night.

Recently, I began college and have had no choice but to work late-night hours. I go to work scared every night, praying that nothing happens to me on the job.

I sympathize with those innocent workers involved in the recent incidents and hope that they will be able to overcome the misfortune that was dealt to them.
