NORFOLK - Gloria T. Tyler, 47, of the 3800 block of Robin Hood Road, died Dec. 30, 1995, in DePaul Medical Center.

She was a retired school teacher from Surry County, and a native of Portsmouth. She was a member of New Bethel Cathedral C.O.G.I.C., Hampton, and former member of Garden of Prayer Temple, Portsmouth. She was a member of Women of GLO.

Survivors include an adopted daughter, Andrea Lynch of Norfolk; a son, Sidney Tyler Jr. of Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas; and an adopted son, Jonathan Lynch of Norfolk; her mother, Rosa Taylor; a sister, Claudine T. Austin of Norfolk; a brother, Wiley Moye of Washington, D.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Herman Taylor, and a sister, Mary L. Lynch.

The funeral will be conducted at noon today in Garden of Prayer Temple, Portsmouth, by Bishop L.E. Willis. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. A Christian wake will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at New Bethel Cathedral C.O.G.I.C., 56 Harris Creek Road, Hampton. Mrs. Tyler will lie in state from 10 a.m. to noon today at the church. Family and friends will assemble at 15 Grand St., Portsmouth, at 11:15 a.m. today for the procession to the church. Serenity Funeral Home, Portsmouth, in charge. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
