Mildred Jones White Pierce, 85, of Route 1, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 1996, in Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.
Mrs. Pierce was born in Gates County. The daughter of the late Henry and Mrs. Issie Small Jones, she was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Christian Church. She was the wife of the late Lloyd Pierce.
Surviving are two sons, Earl White of Suffolk and Roland White of Norfolk; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Cross Cemetery, Sunbury, by the Rev. Riddick Pearce. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville.
