Edith W. Meade, of the 700 block of Gainsborough Court, died Monday, Jan. 1, 1996, in her residence.
Mrs. Meade was born in Sanger, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Amos and Mammie Gilpin Wygal. She was a private duty nurse for 27 years. She was a member of Centerville Baptist Church and also the Chesapeake General Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Miller of Chesapeake and Pamela Griggs of Coinjock, N.C.; her two sisters, Violet Hartley of Nitro, W.Va., and Kathryn Burns of Woodbridge, Va.; her three brothers, Frank Wygal of Nitro, Gilmer Wygal of Hurricane, W.Va., and Ernest Wygal of Canvas, W.Va.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 1996, in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge. Interment is in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:30 to 9 p.m. today.
