MATTIE C. ROUNTREE

Mattie C. Rountree, 95, died Jan. 2, 1996.

She was the widow of W. Linwood Rountree and was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Crowder Bible Class, the Tidal Wave Chapter (NU)9, O.E.S. and V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was a retired clerk for the Southern Railroad and was a native of Nash County, N.C.

She is survived by two nieces, Margaret Ashberry Hutchins of Portsmouth, Dorothy Braswell Barber of Port Tobacco, Md.; two nephews, Roland T. Braswell of Emporia, Va., and Vernon S. ``Pete'' Braswell of Corpus Christi, Texas; three great-nephews; and one great-niece.

A graveside service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Kathryn Pigg in Olive Branch Cemetery. Loving Funeral Home, Chruchland, is handling the arrangements.
