ORESTES K. WATTS

Orestes K. Watts, of the 1400 block of Cavalier Blvd., died Jan. 1, 1996, in Naval Regional Medical Center Portsmouth Naval Hospital.

He was a retired mechanic for Virginia Electric and Power Company, where he had worked for 14 years. He was a native of Indian Rock, Va., and a member of Prentis Park Seven-Day Adventist, Portsmouth. He was a 22 year retired machinist mate first class (E-6) U.S. Navy veteran, and he was also an honorary member of Club Twenty Social and Civic Club.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine Watts; three daughters, Tina Harris and Beverly Watts, both of Portsmouth, Sherri Alba of Austin, Texas; two sons, Aubrey Watts of Delaware and Dwain K. Watts of New Jersey; three sisters, Ruth Lee and Lola Manigault, both of Roanoke, Va., and Faye Barnett of Dayton, Ohio; two brothers, Charlie Watts, of Indian Rock, Va., and Robert Watts, of Roanoke; 11 grandchildren; one aunt; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday by Pastor J. Broomfield in New Bethel Baptist Church, Portsmouth. Burial is in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, with military honors. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Friday.
