CRIME LINE - SUFFOLK

Detective E.C. Harris is asking help to finding the persons responsible for attempted theft of and maiming of two horses.

On Nov. 11, thieves went to a stable in the 9000 block of South Quay Road and tried to steal two horses. One of the horses, struck in the head with a sharp object - possibly an ax, suffered a skull fracture.

Investigators believe the incident may have involved rustling for the sake of selling the horses for meat.

If you have information concerning anyone who may be involved in this type of activity, please call Suffolk Crime Line at 539-1222. Information leading to an arrest may bring a cash reward up to $1,000.
