MARY E. BUCHANAN

Mary E. Buchanan, 90, died Jan. 2, 1996.

She was a native of Norfolk and the widow of Michael K. Buchanan, who was the inventor of the ice tray. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Norfolk, and the Lenox Garden Club.

She is survived by a daughter, Carole Anne Buchanan of Norfolk; a son, Michael K. Buchanan of Salt Lake City; and two sisters, Veronica B. Shipp of Norfolk, Virginia B. Scherberger of Norfolk. She was predeceased by her sister, Anna B. Gaines.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday by Father Thomas Quinlan and Father Lou Ruoff in Holy Trinity Catholic Church. A graveside service will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery at 11 a.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Norfolk SPCA, located on Ballentine Blvd., Norfolk. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is in charge.
