Effective Tuesday, the city of Norfolk is placing a load limit on the Norview Avenue Bridge over Rinda Creek. All vehicles weighing more than 2 1/2 tons will be required to use alternate routes.
The load restrictions have become necessary because some of the piles supporting the bridge have deteriorated over time. The bridge is located on Norview Avenue, three-tenths of a mile east of the Norview Avenue/Tidewater Drive intersection and immediately to the west of Sedgefield Drive at its intersection with Norview Avenue. The design for a replacement bridge will begin this winter. by CNB
