SATURDAY HOURS SET FOR TAXES

Portsmouth citizens will be able to pay personal property taxes and purchase 1996 automobile decals on four Saturday mornings in January and February.

Commissioner of Revenue A. James Fillion and City Treasurer James L. Williams announced Tuesday that they will have personnel at both City Hall and Tower Mall Jan. 20 and 27, and Feb. 3 and 10. The offices will be open from 9 a.m. to noon.

In addition, employees of Fillion's office also will be available to help citizens prepare state income tax returns for 1995.

Automobile decals must be displayed no later than midnight Feb. 15. State income tax returns must be filed by May 1.

Personnel from both the offices also will be available for special appointments for citizens who have other business.

Appointments for the four Saturday mornings or any weekday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. may be made by calling the Commissioner's office at 393-8771 or the Treasurer's office at 393-8651. by CNB
