JOHN F. BURRELL

John Francis Burrell, 82, of the 100 block of Palm Beach Place, died Dec. 30, 1995, in his apartment of cardiac arrest.

Mr. Burrell, a retired machinist from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, was a retired machine shop teacher from Portsmouth City Schools. He had taught for 20 years, and had been retired for 12. Mr. Burrell was a native of Wyoming, Ohio. He was a member of Grace Episcopal in Norfolk, and Southgate Civic League. Throughout his work career he received numerous awards for excellence in his field.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Ferebee Burrell; a daughter, Sylvia Burrell McKinney of Aiken, S.C.; a sister, Geraldine Burrell Rhymes of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Walter Price Burrell of Los Angeles, Calif.; and four grandchildren, Kee McKinney of Atlanta, Charles McKinney II of Corpus Christi, Texas, Michael McKinney of Atlanta, and David McKinney of Aiken. Mr. Burrell leaves behind numerous friends throughout the area and especially the neighbors on Southgate Avenue in Virginia Beach.
