John N. Stateman, 84, of the 1300 block of Gust Lane, died Jan. 3, 1996, in the VA Hospital, Hampton.
Mr. Stateman, a native of Norfolk County, was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of Union Bethel Baptist Church, Chesapeake. Mr. Stateman was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie Stateman; a daughter, Beverly Ann Foreman; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Union Bethel Baptist Church by the Rev. Ralph D. Harris. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
