Estelle Clayton Mayo, 80, of the 100 block of Suburban Pkwy., died Jan. 4, 1996 in her home.
Mrs. Mayo was a Christian and a member of Park Place United Methodist Church. She was retired from DePaul Hospital as unit secretary. She was a member of the 700 Club of CBN, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a long time Red Cross Blood Donor. She was also a calender club member of Hope Haven Children's Home.
Mrs. Mayo was the widow of Capt. James A. Mayo, Norfolk Police Department. She is survived by her son, Richard A. Mayo of Virginia Beach; her daughter, Sharon M. Conklin of Elizabeth City, N.C.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two nephews and a niece.
At Mrs. Mayo's request, her body was donated to the Department of Anatomy at the Eastern Virginia Medical School. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday by Rev. Francis E. Collins in Park Place United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Mayo wanted donations to be made to Hope Haven Children's Home, P.O. Box 6185, Virginia Beach, Va. 23456.
