Cesar C. Rivera, 51, died Jan. 3, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Rivera, a YN1, served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years. He also worked with the U.S. Postal Service for 10 years. He was a native of Paete Laguna, Philippines, and a member of Knotts Island Baptist Church. Mr. Rivera was a member of National Association of Letter Carriers and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Virginia Beach. He was a Naval veteran of Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Van Duyn Rivera; a son, Christopher David Rivera of Knotts Island; his mother, Rose Rivera of Milwaukee, Wisc.; six sisters, Elena Rivera, Nora Rivera, Lilia Cascolan, Solly Fadui, And Cena Schultz, all of Milwaukee, Christina Manuel of Houston, Texas; a brother, Dante Rivera; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be in Milwaukee at a later date. The body will be sent to Krause Funeral Home, Milwaukee, for services and burial. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is in charge of local arrangements.
