ISREL BOYD

Isrel Boyd, of the 1800 block of Canton Ave., died Jan. 2, 1996, in a local hospital.

Mr. Boyd, a retired auto mechanic, worked for VEPCO for 32 years. He was a native of Littleton, N.C., and a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Eliza Boyd; three daughters, Allene Cherry of Baltimore, Md., Mary Watson of Newark, N.J., and Celestine Wescott of Norfolk; a son, Rev. James I. Boyd of Mappsville, Va.; a sister, Velmae Alston of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; four brothers, Howard Boyd of Cinamianson, N.J., Andrew Boyd, Aaron Boyd, and Nathaniel Boyd, all of Baltimore; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church by the Rev. Ronnie Joyner. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Friends may join the family at the residence. Graves Funeral Home is in charge.
