Rochelle Spruell Sr., of the 1100 block of Sean Drive, died Jan. 2, 1996, in a local hospital.
Mr. Spruell, a retired brickmason, worked for Quality Masonary Construction Co. He was a native of Norfolk and a member of Garden of Prayer Temple, Portsmouth.
Survivors include his wife, LeeAnna Spruell; four daughters, Alice Spruell, Cora Felton and Shirley Bly, all of Chesapeake, Evyonne Mitchell of Portsmouth; three sons, Rochelle Spruell Jr. and Donnell Spruell, both of Chesapeake, Milton Spruell of Portsmouth; a sister, Cora Eason of Portsmouth; a brother, Harry Spruell of Norfolk; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Victoria Spruell and Harry Spruell.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Garden of Prayer Temple COGIC by Bishop Levi Willis. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery. Friends may join the family at the residence. Graves Funeral Home is in charge.
