Bruce Nicholson Murdaugh, 85, of the 300 block of Middle St., died Jan. 3, 1996, in her home.
Mrs. Murdaugh, a native of Portsmouth, was a former teacher with the Norfolk County Public School System. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and served on its Altar Guild. She was the widow of William C. Gill and Claude W. Murdaugh III.
Survivors include a daughter, Bruce Gill Hefler of Sausalito, Calif.; two sons, James Richard Gill of Portsmouth, William Coupar Gill of Virginia Beach; and five grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Cedar Grove Cemetery by the Rev. Dr. Geoffrey Hahneman. Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth, is handling arrangements. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial donations may be made to the Book of Remembrance of Trinity Episcopal Church.
