A Burlington couple went to Virginia to claim their share of a $6.1 million lottery they must split with two brothers who also chose the winning number.
Robert and Betty Woody went to Richmond on Thursday to claim their $3 million from a Lotto drawing held Dec. 27, 1995. The winning ticket was purchased by a friend of Woody's who is a Virginia resident, Lottery officials said.
The winning ticket was purchased at a convenience store in Danville. It had the numbers 01-10-19-42-43-44.
The couple, who are both 66, have been married for 46 years.
The Woodys received a check of $154,749.03 ($105,229 after taxes). They will receive 19 additional payments of $153,500 ($104,380 after taxes).
The other winning ticket was held by two brothers from Damascus, Va. by CNB
