FOOD BANK RECEIVES $5,000

Albemarle Manna in Elizabeth City has received $5,000 for its rural delivery project from MAZON, a national Jewish organization.

The Food Bank of North Carolina in Raleigh was the state's other MAZON grant recipient, receiving $9,000.

Since 1986, the Los Angeles-based MAZON has granted more than $10 million to groups working to prevent or alleviate hunger in the United States, Israel and other countries. by CNB
