Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the taxpayers pay the salaries of Congress? Isn't Congress there to work for the taxpayers?
Then why don't we discontinue congressional paychecks until a budget agreement is reached - and refuse to give them back pay?
Hard-working Americans shouldn't be furloughed. We're doing our jobs; but Congress leaves a lot to be desired. If Congress cut expenses in its own back yard, we wouldn't have a budget crunch to begin with.
