Mattie Martin McRainey, 93, widow of A.T. McRainey, died Jan. 4, 1996.
She was a member of Bon Air Presbyterian Church. Mrs. McRainey had lived in Portsmouth until her retirement, relocating to St. Pauls, N.C. After her husband's death in 1979, she moved to Richmond.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; two granddaughters; and two great-granddaughters.
The remains rest at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. Graveside services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in Lafayette Memorial Park, Fayetteville, N.C. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
