Ruth Mitchell Thomas, 98, of the 600 block of Stokes St., died Jan. 4, 1996.
She was a homemaker and a native of Hertford County, N.C. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Ahoskie, where she was a Sunday school teacher and Sunbeam Leader for more than 50 years. She was a graduate of Chowan College.
She is survived by several cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today by the Rev. Rowland Pruette and the Rev. Edwin Dacus in Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie. Burial is in Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. today prior to the services.
