SCALLOP SEASON OPENS

Bay scallop season will open in North Carolina at 7:30 a.m. Monday.

Bay scallops may be harvested by hand from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays in any of North Carolina's coastal waters. Bay scallops may be harvested with dredges from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, only in Core and Pamlico sounds.

There is a daily harvest limit of 20 U.S. standard bushels per day in any combined fishing operation, regardless of the number of persons or boats involved.
