CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TO INSTALL OFFICERS AND HONOR VOLUNTEERS

SUFFOLK - The local division of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce will have an installation of officers and volunteer recognition dinner Jan. 25 at the National Guard Armory.

A reception will begin at 6 p.m., and dinner will be served at 7.

The new board of directors of the local chamber will be installed and the 1995 leaders will be recognized. The Planters Partner-in-Education and Athena awards will also be presented.

The partnership award recognized a company for its work with a school. The Athena award is for oustanding leadership by a woman.

The featured speaker will be Cmdr. Paula Hinger, executive officer of Squadron VRC-40 at the Naval Air Station, Norfolk.

Tickets are $35 a person or $240 for a table of eight. Reservations must be made by Jan. 20 by returning a reservation form and payment to the chamber office, 1001 W. Washington St.

Colin R. ``Randy'' Davis, executive director of the local division for the past eight and a half years, will retire at the end of January. Officials with the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce are accepting resumes from applicants and will begin interviewing candidates by the middle of January. by CNB
