The fifth annual Armed Forces Bowling Conference will be held at the Waterside Marriott in Norfolk Feb. 12-16.
It will be sponsored by ABC, WIBC, the BPAA and the Bowling Manufacturers Association of America. And it will be the last of the military-only events as future conferences will be consolidated with the BPAA Bowling Expo in Las Vegas.
This is the first time that the Armed Forces Bowling Conference has been held in Norfolk. Last year it was conducted in Reno. It was in Denver in 1994, St. Louis in 1993 and Memphis in 1992.
``Ride The Wave To Action'' will be the theme of the 1996 conference, which will feature futurist David Zack as the keynote speaker.
Seminars will be geared toward offering the military representatives ways to gain additional income. A three-day trade show will be held.
There also will be a panel discussion on the changes taking place in the bowling industry.
Greg Dziedzic of ABC is serving as general chairman. Dziedzic said he expects managers of 160 military bowling centers around the world to attend. ``We will have about 80 exhibitors participate,'' he said.
The Waterside Marriott will be headquarters for the five-day program.
