HEALTH CARE

Dr. Clarence A. Holland, a leader in local and state government and a practicing family physician in Virginia Beach, was appointed to the Medical College of Hampton Roads Board of Visitors by the Eastern Virginia Medical School Foundation. The board is the governing body of Eastern Virginia Medical School. He will serve a three-year term.

INSURANCE

Dana Payne Sykes, a certified professional financial planner, has joined Kantor & Associates in Virginia Beach. She will head the newly expanded financial planning area of the insurance and tax consulting firm. Previously, she was the associate director of policy and research at the Office of Thrift Supervision in Atlanta.

LAW

Samantha L. Stecker was named an associate with Hofheimer, Nusbaum, McPhaul & Samuels in Norfolk. She is a graduate of the Marshall-Wythe School of Law of the College of William and Mary. She will practice in the areas of creditors rights, employment law and general litigation.

Rebecca L. McFerren, Laura M. Suddarth and L. Scott Seymour were named associates to Williams Kelly & Greer in Norfolk. McFerren will concentrate in commercial and FELA litigation and bankruptcy law. She is a 1995 graduate of g1suddarth

Suddarth Washington and Lee University School of Law. Suddarth will practice in general litigation, bankruptcy and domestic relations. She is a 1995 graduate of the Marshall-Wythe School of Law of the Colg1seymour

Seymour lege of William and Mary. And Seymour will concentrate his practice in taxation, estate planning and administration, corporate litigation and bankruptcy. He received his law degree from the University of Richmond's T.C. Williams School of Law in 1995.

REAL ESTATE

Michael P. Zarpas was named director of retail services for the Hampton Roads area at Robinson Sigma Commercial Real Estate in Norfolk. He will oversee the company's retail services division covering the southside and Peninsula. He was formerly vice president of retail services with Goodman Segar Hogan Hoffler in Norfolk. WHOLESALE

Robert J. Williamson was named director of sales and Mark A. Smith was named director of integrated supply at Noland Co. Both are new positions created in a reorganization of the company's marketing division. Williamson was most recently regional manager for ITA Group, a leading sales performance company in Detroit. In his new position, he will be responsible for all sales-related activities in the wholesale distribution firm's 99 branches. Smith, who was most recently national sales manager for energy and engineering services at All-Phase Electric Supply Co. in Sacramento, Calif., will be responsible for expanding the company's number of integrated supply contracts. He will be based in Richmond.

Other new appointments have been made under the reorganization plan as well. Ron K. Binger is now vice president and director of operations. He will be responsible for inventory management, warehousing and other operational activities in the branches. Previously, he was vice president and general credit manager.

Art A. Brown was appointed rector of marketing for plumbing, heating, and air conditioning. Previously, he was manager of merchandising for plumbing and heating.

And David E. Gregg was named director of marketing for electrical and industrial. He will be responsible for the business plans for the company's electrical and industrial departments. Prior to this, he had been manager of merchandising for electrical and industrial. MEMO: Only timely news releases will be used. Please include: full names
