Sally Mozell Moore, formerly a resident of Norfolk, died Monday, Jan. 8, 1996.
She was the daughter of the late Benjamin H. and Cora A. Moore. She was born in Durham, N.C., and reared in Nansemond County. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Norfolk.
She received her nursing degree at the School of Nursing at Old Saint Vincent's Hospital. She received training in the Sister Kenny technique of treatment of polio in Minneapolis at the University of Minnesota, and a degree in physical therapy from Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. She served on the Board of Medical Examiners for Virginia as a member of the Physical Therapy Advisory Committee in 1958-1966.
She was in charge of the Physical Therapy Department at DePaul Hospital during the polio epidemic, achieving outstanding results in the patients' therapy. After 32 years of service at DePaul, she retired in 1976 and later was associated with LaFayette Villa as a P.T.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Christ United Methodist Church, 1601 East Bayview Blvd., by Dr. Charles H. Smith and the Rev. Frances Moody. Memorials may be made to her church. Hill Funeral Home in charge.
