Sarah E. ``Lizzie'' Powell, 86, of the 25000 block of Bows and Arrows Road, died Monday, Jan. 8, 1996, in her residence.
She was a native of Isle of Wight County, Va., and the widow of Homan B. Powell. Mrs. Powell was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Suffolk, where she was member of Sarah E. Powell Ladies Class. She was also a member of the Golden Age Club of Mt. Carmel.
She is survived by three sons, W. Reginald Powell of Suffolk, Russell I. Powell of Zuni, and the Rev. T.A. Powell of Zuni; three sisters, Lucy S. Cutchins of Walters, Va., Odelle S. Carr of Zuni, and Jessie ``Sugie'' Rhodes of Carrsville; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. T.A. Powell in Liberty Baptist Church, Suffolk. Burial is in Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery. There will be a visitation today from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial may be made to Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1055, Suffolk, 23439.
