The Friends of Jockey's Ridge, the North Carolina Division of Parks & Recreation and Nags Head Woods Nature Conservancy will hold a science symposium Thursday through Saturday.
The focus of the three-day meeting will be on Jockey's Ridge, with related studies of Run Hill and surrounding areas. Eleven scientists have been invited to participate, all of whom are specialists in their respective fields. Symposium moderators will be Marshall Ellis of the state Division of Parks & Recreation, and Karen Havholm of the University of Wisconsin.
Two meetings are planned with members of all boards of directors, the mayor of Nags Head, Nags Head town commissioners and the Jockey's Ridge Advisory Board. by CNB
