Because of bad weather, North Carolina Marine Fisheries Commission Chairman Bob Lucas was unable to deliver accounting books from the state fisheries' Marine Conservation Fund, state fisheries division spokeswoman Nancy Fish said Monday.
Lucas had promised to give Fish the fund's bank records so that the deposits and payments can be made public.
``He said he will bring them on Tuesday. So I'll make them available Wednesday,'' Fish said.
Last week, the state auditor's office decided not to conduct an official audit of the funds because the balance was deemed too small to warrant a state audit.
The conservation fund includes money from fishing tournament fees and donations. It reportedly has a balance of more than $18,000. by CNB
