John M. Litchfield, 84, died Jan. 8, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
He was a retired deck foreman for Norfolk and Western Railroad and a native of Knotts Island, N.C. He was the widower of Pauline H. Litchfield.
He is survived by a sister, Martha Spickard of Norfolk; brother, W.R. Litchfield of Midlothian, Va.; and two stepsisters, Elizabeth Britton of Portsmouth, Naomi Acey of Smithfield.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. Don Harris in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
