Louis A. Rock Jr., 84, died Jan. 9, 1996, in his home.
Mr. Rock, a retired painter, worked for Norfolk Naval Shipyard for 26 years. He was a native of Norfolk and a member and deacon of Ocean View Baptist Church. He was president of the Blackwell Sunday School Class. Mr. Rock was also a member of the Senior Golf League of Ocean View Golf Course.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Frances Eason Rock; two daughters, Dolores Edmunds of Norfolk, Joyce Hardisty of Sandston, Va.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; a niece and nephew. He was the son of the late Louis and Mattie Rock, and the brother of the late Charlie Rock.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by Dr. David N. Clay. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Yancey Elliott Pastoral Fund of Ocean View Baptist Church.
