WILLIAM E. STANTON

William Edward Stanton, 77, of the 3500 block of Argonne Ave., died Jan. 8, 1996, in his home.

Mr. Stanton, a retired manager of Foodtown Supermarket, was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a Catholic. He also retired from the Navy after 24 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. A member of VFW (NU)4809 and the Fleet Reserve Branch (NU)60.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma E. Stanton; a son, Dean Bower, and his wife, Jan, of Fort Smith, Ark.; a sister, Marie Naldrett of Carmel, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Edward Richardson. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
