Geneva ``Jennie'' Goodman, 85, of the 1000 block of Vermont Ave., died Jan. 8, 1996, in a nursing home.
She was a native of Roxobel, N.C., and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, where she was an usher and missionary. She was a retired custodian for the Portsmouth Public School System. She was the daughter of the late Julie and Thomas Goodman of Bertie County, N.C.
Survivors include nieces, Janet Boggan of New York City, Julia Ruffin and Marion Ruffin; and several great-nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday with the Rev. James Whitaker in New Bethel Baptist Church. Burial is in Lincoln Cemetery. Fisher Funeral Home in charge.
