Allan Rothenberg (``Wrong on flag vote,'' letter, Dec. 24, 1995) has delusions of conservatism. He states that Senator Robb's vote against an amendment to outlaw flag desecration is wrong.
As a true conservative, I say this amendment is an unneeded government intervention. Ninety-nine percent of Americans will do the right thing. As a veteran, I say Americans fight for freedom and that freedom is all encompassing. It includes the right to disagree with your government, even if you are that .01 percent of Americans who thinks it is necessary to burn your flag as a sign of protest.
Mr. Rothenberg should reread the Constitution and find its meaning.
