Viola Lassiter of the 1400 block of Bartow Place died Jan. 7, 1996.
She was born in Surry, Va., and was a member of Rising Star United Church of Christ in Newport News.
Survivors include a daughter, Denise R. Lassiter-Vachon of Baltimore and husband, Jesse H. Lassiter of Virginia Beach; a son, Darryl A. Lassiter of Alexandria, Va.; mother, Fannie Johnson of Virginia Beach; three stepbrothers, James R. Steward of New York, Howard Steward of Hampton and William Steward of Newport News; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in Community Funeral Home, Virginia Beach Chapel, by the Rev. Lawrence McLaurin. Burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park. She was a wonderful wife and the best mother in the world.
